Alexa is a DC-based singer and poet who was so incredibly lovely to photograph. As someone who photographs people from a wildly varying number of industries - I love getting to meet and hear about what other people are doing and working on. There’s something kind of magical in watching someone describe work that they are committed to and excited about and I also love rooting for other people being able to put a line in the win column. So, it was lovely to hear Alexa talk about spoken word and poetry and then sharing that in 2023 - she has a book coming out (Remedies for Disappearing) - so much talent and kindness in this one and I’m grateful that our paths crossed.
