One of the things I say to every couple I have the honor of photographing is that you have to be flexible on a wedding day because "The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry." and that's okay. On Thomas and Elaina's big day, Mother Nature was having a hard time making her mind up - was it going to be sunny? Was it going to rain? We honestly didn't know. All that Thomas, who does science-y things for NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration), wanted for his soon to be wife was her happiness and that meant when the sky opened up, he tracked the weather on his phone and patiently waited for the rain to subside so that they could get married outside like they'd both envisioned and were committed to.Those few minutes waiting were so fantastic because the weather was beautiful after and when you book a venue as beautiful as Brenwood Lakes - you want to be able to enjoy it! I also can't say enough about a venue as accommodating and efficient as Brenwood. In the heart of the Shenandoah Valley - it is really so, so stunning and I hope that my work brings me back there soon!
