This is my reminder to you that engagement sessions don’t have to be you in a ballgown or a tuxedo. They can be relaxed and easy. You can even wear your coat! Or mittens! Or go barefoot if the season is right. These photos belong to you and my job is to be there to facilitate you being your best self next to the person you love. That’s it. The internet will tell you that engagement sessions need to be events and the truth is they only need to be reflective of you and your person. That’s it.

Amy and James love Politics + Prose so we started their engagement session there and then I let Amy be our nature tour guide in Rock Creek Park. These photos are a such a beautiful reflection of their relationship - they are funny and sweet and cuddly and so, so Amy and James.
