When I think about all the plans that people had before our collective lives got flipped, turned upside-down it makes my head hurt and my heart ache. Still, I am in awe at the amazing resiliency my couples have shown when having to reset and re-imagine what something so important will look like. That also leads me to something important about weddings. Often, what we are shown on social media is this notion of love that is only young, thin, hetero-normative - when the reality is that love can and does look a myriad of ways. Some people find love when they’re 22, some people find it when they’re 62 and it doesn’t matter because love is valuable and important wherever it finds you. I’ve been lucky to have so many couples whose stories and lives are just so wildly different but the commonality? Love. Life is rich and vibrant and we should be celebrating everyone who finds love no matter what it looks like.
