This is an important reminder that your photos can be as relaxed and as easy as you want them to be. Photos on your front porch can be just as special as photos taken at a DC monument. I am also always going to have a sweet spot for sessions that include extended family. Aunts, uncles, godparents, grandparents - let everyone be photographed together!

I took these photos of the adorable F family on Capitol Hill at a small park and they feel so casual and just like a family hanging out. I would also be remiss if I didn’t remind any family booking a session with small children that the best photos are when we let them be themselves. Sometimes they need to run around for a few. Sometimes they need to tell me a rambling story. Sometimes they need to be shy. My goal is to meet them (and you!) where they are and to document them as they are in those moments that are gone so quickly.
